Welcome To Binghampton Community Life Center's Recreation Program

BCLC provides one of the highest quality athletic programs in the city of Memphis. Young men and women have the opportunity to participate in various activities including Basketball (includes a 5 - 8 year old Developmental League), Volleyball, Baseball (includes a 5 - 8 year old T-ball League) and Cheerleading.

These activities are provided in a safe, competitive environment. Participants learn to work together for a common goal, develop friendships and respect for each other.

Programs and Activities
Developmental and Intermediate basketball, AAU Team Play, Tball- Coach Pitch, Base ball, Cheerleading and Volleyball. The season runs October through March each year. A small registration fee is required to cover the cost of uniforms and league fees. Scholarships are available for eligible participants.


Developmental Basketball
Designed specifically for youth ages 5 – 8. Participants receive the proper training to develop basic fundamental skills for handling the ball including passing, dribbling and shooting, as well as the responsibilities of offensive and defensive positions. Activities at this level are non competitive. Discipline is a part of all program activities. All participants are eligible and encouraged to attend the homework center for tutoring and support to achieve academic success.



Intermediate Basketball Play

Designed specifically for ages 9 – 13. Participants receive extensive training to master the fundamentals and learn critical thinking required to become skilled players of the game. Training includes defensive and offensive plays. Activities at this level are very competitive and participants are exposed to different styles of playing through tournament play.


AAU Play

Participants who demonstrate advanced skills have the opportunity to try out for AAU team play. These teams travel across the United States and play in various tournaments learning techniques to enhance both basketball and life skills.


Our Coaching Staff
Our volunteer coaching staff is composed of dedicated men with over 20 years experience working with children through sports activities. Their success is well documented by the Commercial Appeal and other media as coaches of AAU National Champions and players who are successful college students today. They are committed to the success of young people and significantly benefit hundreds of young men and women who will add substantial value to our community in the future. All volunteers must complete an application and are subject to background checks through the sex abuse registry.
